Randy Hillier was drafted in the 5th round of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. He made his NHL debut on January 25, 1982, against the Calgary Flames.
This home white heavy CCM mesh gamer was worn by Randy Hillier during the 1984-85 NHL season. This is a notable year in Pittsburgh history, as it was Mario Lemieux’s rookie season.
Hillier had an 11-year NHL career patrolling the blueline for several NHL squads. He is mostly remembered as a Penguin, having spent 7 seasons with the club. His final year in Pittsburgh was 1990-91, the Penguins 1st ever Stanley Cup winning season.
After his playing career, Randy Hiller went on to become the assistant coach of the Penguins during the 1998-99 season and again from 2002–04.
Randy Hillier wore this home set one jersey for 20 games. He recorded eight assists while logging a minus eight rating. In addition to his eight points, he amassed 22 penalty minutes over the 20-game span. The game use on this heavy mesh sweater is solid consisting of stick marks, plenty of board burns and no less than a dozen team-sewn repairs.
