Francois Leroux was a first-round selection in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers. He made his debut during the 1988-89 season. Leroux played parts of five seasons in Edmonton before being claimed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators on October 6, 1993. On January 18, 1995, the Pittsburgh Penguins claimed Leroux in the NHL Waiver Draft.
Prior to the start of the 1997–98 season, Leroux was traded to the Colorado Avalanche for a third-round pick in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Following his stint with the Colorado Avalanche, Leroux was not offered an NHL contract. The Penguins signed Leroux to a two-way contract on July 16, 2002. Leroux played 57 games for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins before being traded to the Phoenix Coyotes for three prospects on March 16, 2003. Leroux made a second stop at Springfield, as they were now the Coyotes' AHL affiliate. He played six games before announcing his retirement from the NHL on September 6, 2003.

Shawn McEachern was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 6th round of the 1987 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 1991-92 season. After winning the Stanley Cup in his rookie campaign, McEachern went on to play fourteen seasons in the NHL. His final stop was in Boston during the 2005-06 season. The New York Rangers selected Sandstrom in the 2nd round of the 1982 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in 1984-85 with the Rangers and played parts of 6 seasons until a deal sent him to Los Angeles in 1990. He would spend a handful of years playing alongside Wayne Gretzky with the Kings, where he enjoyed a trip to the Cup Finals in 1993. He was later dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1994. Tomas spent parts of 4 years playing with the likes of Lemieux and Jagr in the Steel City before a trade sent him to Detroit midway thru the 1996-97 season. That spring he captured the Stanley Cup as a member of the Red Wings. Sandstrom spent the final 2 years of his NHL career in Anaheim. He later went to Europe where he played another 3 years with Malmo in the Swedish Elite League.

Peter Taglianetti was selected in the third round, (43rd overall) by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He played his first NHL game on April 7, 1985, vs the Calgary Flames, finishing the game with a +1 rating. After six seasons with the Jets, On September 30, 1990, Taglianetti was traded to the Minnesota North Stars. By December of 1990, the North Stars traded Taglianetti to the Pittsburgh Penguins. On June 18, 1992, Tampa Bay selected Tags in the expansion draft from the Penguins. By March of 1993, the Lightning traded Taglianetti back to the Penguins. Peter's son Jon was named the head equipment manager of the Penguins in 2021.
