Worn in Preseason Only
Colby Armstrong was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round (21st Overall), in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 2005-06 season, posting 40 points in 47 games.
Pittsburgh traded Armstrong on February 26, 2008, to the Atlanta Thrashers, alongside Angelo Esposito, Erik Christensen and a first-round draft pick, in exchange for Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis.
Colby wore this home jersey during the 2003-04 preseason for one game. He suited up on September 20th Vs the New York Islanders. The equipment staff removed Colby's last name from the jersey with the intention to recycle the jersey for future use. A new nameplate was made by the team customizer for display purposes and placed over the jersey for a photograph. The nameplate was not affixed to the jersey. The team also covered the KOHO branding with a Reebok Vector logo and the NHL shield was also covered with the updated post-lockout design. A faint imprint of "Armstrong" can still be seen in the glue residue on the back of the jersey. This was the only time in Armstrong's career that he wore number 46 for the Penguins.

* - Denotes 02-03 Road Set 2
Martin Straka was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Straka was traded to the Ottawa Senators after a lackluster 94-95 season. After stops on Long Island and in Florida, Straka re-signed with the Penguins to begin the 1997-98 season. He remained in Pittsburgh for parts of seven season before again being traded. On November 30, 2003, Straka was shipped to LA as part of a cost cutting move as the Penguins were facing bankruptcy. After the 2004-05 Lockout, Straka played three more seasons in New York before calling it a career.
Straka wore this jersey as a 2002-03 road set 2 jersey for twenty games. During that span he scored three goals and added eight assists. To begin the 2003-04 season, the league reversed the jersey colors for home and road games. Dark jerseys were to be worn at home and white jerseys on the road. Marty wore this same jersey as home set 1 for the 2003-04 season. He scored three goals and logged two penalty minutes during that time.
